TAMA sweaters

Longtime Knit ‘n Needle Shoppe customers Jamie H. knit these four adorable sweaters for her boys for Easter this year.

The pattern is the same for all of them, TAMA. This pattern is available in the shoppe and online at Ravelry. It is a really great pattern that has a wide range of sizes determined by your child’s chest size. It is always written for gauges of 5.5, 5, 4.5 and 4 stitches/inch without you having to do the math. This roughly takes you from a DK weight yarn through to a heavy worsted/aran weight yarn. There is an option for long sleeves.  For those of us with both boys and girls, the TAMA pattern is a great value as it is unisex.  Jamie also gave the pattern a good review for not taking too much brain power while homeschooling three boys and caring for a baby. Good news for mommies of little ones for sure.

Jamie used (from L to R), Berroco Vintage, Madelinetosh DK, more Vintage and Berroco Ultra Alpaca.

Jamie doesn’t have her project notes up on Ravelry yet, see aforementioned boys. But when she does, I will link them here. In the meantime, knit one of these great little sweaters for a kid in your life.
