Monster KAL – Starting Line

On your marks, get, go make a monster! KAL starts tomorrow, Halloween Day!

Are you ready with your yarn and Rebecca Danger pattern? I am. I just wound my yarn and my daughter finally decided which monster she wanted to own and snuggle. She choose Penelope the Empathetic Monster.

The yarn on the ball winder is Malabrigo Worsted Pink Frost. The contrast yarn is Malabrigo Worsted Deja Vu, leftovers from multiple projects, it is my favorite Malabrigo variegated colorway. The pattern can be purchased in the Knit ‘n Needle Yarn Shoppe and on Ravelry.

If you would like to join us in this KAL, all the details can be found in this blog post. You can join anytime you want, the finish date is December 1st. If you read closely, you will notice that I have changed my mind or more precisely my daughter changed her mind on the monster I am making.

Much of the chit chat about the KAL and its participants will occur over in our Ravelry group. But I will do updates on people’s progress and monster choices.

So let the monster making begin…first thing Halloween morning. I think that children might feel that the first thing to do Halloween morning is to make sure their costumes are in order and how much candy they will receive and how much they will actually get to eat. But we know that knitting is much better (of course, it is made more enjoyable while eating your children’s candy, we called it the “parent tax” in our house.)

Here is my monster’s Ravelry project page.

What are Monster are you going to make and what is your yarn choice? Tell us about it in the comments and in the Ravelry thread.
