NEW Pattern: Sweet Tart Poncho
Aimee Alexander, the lovely and talented owner of our little shoppe, is releasing her latest design. The Sweet Tart Poncho was originally designed for a warm layer for her daughter that still allowed free movement. I am so pleased that she decided to write the pattern because upon seeing her pictures, I immediately said I wanted to make it for my daughter and I had the perfect Madelinetosh DK in my stash to knit it. Another friend suggested that big girls would want to have one too and Aimee added women’s sizes as well. So no matter what age a girl you are, you can have your own Sweet Tart Poncho!

This poncho is also perfect for twirling around and around. This “design feature” in clothing is always appreciated by little girls. Ponchos are great for little ones learning to dress themselves because they can just pull it over their heads and they are cozy warm. The Sweet Tart Poncho has a choice of necklines, a garter stitch edge or a rolled knit edge.
But like I said, the Sweet Tart Poncho isn’t only for little girls. Jamie H. made hers in Berroco Ultra Alpaca, size adult small. Doesn’t it look gorgeous yet very wearable?
Here are the important details for the Sweet Tart Poncho. It is knit in the round from the top down. The pattern has both written and charted instructions.
