Crown Jewel KAL: Finished Projects
The Crown Jewel KAL has been going along swimmingly. A number of participants have finished their hats and have said they really enjoyed learning the techniques in the Crown Jewel.
I want to share a few of those finished hats with you. The names used for the knitters are their Ravelry user names.

- Yes, janieknits also made the quilt shown below the hats.
I am also done with my hat and have been for about a week. Of course, when you half knit the project in order to film a how to video, it makes your project quick to finish. However, I do not yet have good pictures of the finished hat. I am happy to report that my daughter does indeed like the hat. The real test of her enjoyment of hat is winter weather.
Inspired to join the KAL? It lasts through August 17, so you have plenty of time. Get caught up with past blog posts listed below and in the Ravelry thread found here.

On another note, did you know you can buy various Berroco booklets in digital format from our website? We are especially happy to note that we have all the Norah Gaughan volumes that are currently available in digital.
The Fall 2013 Norah Gaughan offering is Vol. 13. This collection is a departure for Norah as all the garments are knit from the top down. Norah talked about this choice on the Berroco Design Studio blog not long ago. As always this collection is full of beautiful garments with intriguing designs features.
Now before you tell me that you do not purchase pattern booklets, I want to share a little fact with you. The cost of Norah Gaughan Vol. 13 is $14.95. There are 15 patterns. That works out to about $1 per pattern. That is a steal. If you really adore two patterns in the booklet, that is $7.50 a pattern only slightly higher than an average single pattern these days. If you like three, that is $5 a pattern is the low-end of digital patterns. All that to say, for an entire collection from a well established and always innovative designer such as Norah, these pattern booklets are great deals. Check out all the designs on our website.
Plus check out this design from the Vol. 13. If you are participating in the Crown Jewel KAL, you now have the skill to knit this really awesome hat, Shelley.

I am so excited the fall yarns and patterns are starting to appear here at Polkadotsheep and elsewhere. I know it is still July. I am still knitting on my lakeside knit, the Hanalei Poncho and loving it.
What about you? Does that thought of fall get ideas following or are you wanting just a few more days of summer with me mentioning fall?
